I’ve had a helluva week for reasons I will spare you. But today… today, I was gobsmacked by this piece by the Washington Post featuring the story of why and how I mark my assault anniversary every year. Not only did it share something I see as normal – but maybe surprising to others – but it also gave a major plug to Pathways to Safety International. The fight continues to this day to secure steady funding for victims of overseas sexual assault and abuse. I pray – PRAY – this piece catches the notice of those who can help me and our executive director, Paula Lucas, better navigate Washington to raise awareness and support. I am hopeful.
