Award Season

Bravo! We won an award and stuff.

I wanted to share a quick note with you. The Marie Claire essay about my experience has won a Front Page Award by the Newswomen’s Club of New York. The award is for Best Magazine Essay.  I will accompany Erin Zammett Ruddy (who is being granted the award for her work), along with a senior editor at the magazine, to the Awards Gala this Thursday in Manhattan. I promise to take some photos of myself and Erin with the award. We are both really looking forward to this. It’s such a nice surprise, and well deserved by Erin. Strangely, the award comes almost a year to the day the article was published, and almost three years to the day I was assaulted. Talk to you soon.

I’m Keri

I’ve been at the forefront of advocating for Americans sexually assaulted or abused overseas. I fight to bring attention to the lack of funding and services for these underserved victims while raising awareness about the complexities of the issue. I am President of Pathways to Safety International and continue to raise crucial funds to serve Americans harmed in dozens of countries every year.
